AXA XL appointed Matt Rodliff as chief claims officer, Americas, effective July 13.

Rodliff succeeds Jim DiVirgilio, who has announced his retirement effective at the end of July. DiVirgilio served for 18 years at AXA XL, most recently as chief claims officer, Americas. He will continue to serve in an advisory role through the end of the year.

Rodliff joins AXA XL from Liberty Mutual, where he served as vice president, specialized claims responsible for leading multi-line specialty claims teams, implementing data-driven claims strategies, and improving operational efficiency and customer experience. In his new role, Rodliff will be responsible for leading AXA XL’s claims strategy and operations across the Americas region. He will oversee the delivery of claims service to clients and brokers, drive technical excellence, and partner closely with underwriting and risk teams.

Chesapeake Employers’ Insurance Company announced the appointment of John Barnett as senior vice president and chief financial officer, effective June 23, 2026.

Barnett brings more than 25 years of financial leadership experience to Chesapeake. He most recently served as CFO of BGSF Inc. He previously held CFO and other senior leadership positions at Protective Insurance, First Acceptance Insurance, Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI), and Anheuser-Busch.

Barnett holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Science degree in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point.

American International Group Inc. announced that Christine Williams has been named head of Global Client and Broker Relationships, effective September 1, 2026.

Williams will report to Jon Hancock, executive vice president and CEO of General Insurance, AIG. She will be based in New York.

In this new role, Williams will lead AIG’s enterprise-wide relationships with key global clients and distribution partners, working across the company to deliver its full capabilities, expertise and risk solutions to create value for clients while advancing strategic growth opportunities across AIG’s insurance businesses.

Williams joins AIG from Aon, where she served as co-head of Aon U.S. and was a member of Aon’s Executive Committee. During her more than two decades at Aon, she held a range of senior leadership roles in the United States and internationally, with responsibility for driving growth and delivering insights, expertise and integrated solutions to clients.

Aon plc has appointed Bob Reville as senior managing director, casualty catastrophe market leader for Aon’s Risk Capital, effective July 15.

Aon said Reville’s expertise in casualty modeling and predictive analytics will help its insurer clients navigate emerging and established risks across product and environmental lines. As a market-facing leader for casualty, he will support companies in capturing growth opportunities as client needs evolve, from PFAS contamination to the impact of social inflation.

He will report to Amanda Lyons, global product leader for Reinsurance Solutions.

Reville joins Aon from Moody’s. He previously co-founded and led casualty analytics organization Praedicat as CEO.
