American International Group (AIG) announced that Nancy Bewlay has been named executive vice president, global chief underwriting officer, effective September 8, 2026.
Bewlay will report to Eric Andersen, president and chief executive officer of AIG, and join the company’s Executive Leadership Team. She will be based in New York.
With more than 30 years’ experience, Bewlay joins AIG from AXA Group, where she served as group chief underwriting and pricing officer and a member of the Group Management Committee since 2023. Prior to AXA, she held senior leadership roles at Swiss Re, C.V. Starr and General Star Management Company.
Andersen said that Bewlay’s “experience leading underwriting organizations during several market cycles, combined with her ability to strengthen portfolio management and risk analytics at scale, will be a tremendous asset to AIG.”

HDI Global has appointed Justin Gress as chief operating officer of its U.S. business.
HDI said the appointment complements the recent new leadership and organizational setup, designed to strengthen client centricity and bring underwriting, claims and service teams closer to brokers and clients.
Gress is a senior insurance executive with over two decades of progressive leadership across operations, technology and business transformation. His career includes COO roles at global and specialty insurance organizations, most recently at Vantage Risk, as well as leadership positions at AXA XL and CNA Financial.

Everest Group Ltd. announced two key leadership appointments within Everest Global Wholesale & Specialty (GWS), effective October 1.
Stephen Buonpane has been appointed global head of Construction, GWS, reporting to Jason Keen, executive vice president and chief executive officer of Everest Global Wholesale & Specialty. In this newly created role, he will lead Everest’s global construction business, driving underwriting strategy, market alignment and broker relationships across key markets.
Buonpane was appointed president of Everest Evolution in 2024. He previously served as head of Everest’s Casualty Lines and Industry Practices business. Prior to Everest, he held senior construction and casualty roles, including executive vice president, Construction Industry Practice leader at Chubb.
Danielle Stewart has been promoted as president of Everest Evolution, reporting to Lisa Davis, head of North America, Wholesale & Specialty.
Stewart currently serves as chief operating officer of Everest Evolution and has played a central role in the development of the platform since its launch in 2024. She will now lead Everest Evolution’s continued development across the U.S. wholesale market, overseeing underwriting, portfolio management, operations and distribution. She previously served as national head of wholesale distribution for Everest Insurance and held leadership roles at Liberty Mutual.
Everest Evolution provides specialized excess and surplus lines products through its U.S.-based Everest affiliated insurers and is exclusive to the wholesale channel.

Mutual insurer The Andover Companies has appointed G. Quinn Landers as senior vice president and chief claims officer, effective July 1, 2026. The appointment follows the retirement of Stephen Randall, executive vice president and chief claims officer, after 12 years with The Andover Companies and more than four decades in the insurance industry.
Landers joined The Andover Companies in 2019 after a decade serving as outside counsel to the organization. At Andover, he has held positions of increasing responsibility, most recently serving as vice president, and has also served on the company’s Employee Training and Development team, AI Task Force, and AI Governance Committee. He will continue as an officer of the company.
