W.R. Berkley Corp. announced the formation of Berkley Edge, a new business providing professional liability and casualty insurance for small to mid-sized businesses. Berkley Edge will focus on hard-to-place and distressed risks, offering coverage exclusively through wholesale brokers.
“We are deepening our commitment to the excess and surplus lines market by creating a sustainable platform tailored to small and mid-sized businesses with particularly challenging risk profiles,” said W. Robert Berkley, Jr., president and chief executive officer of W. R. Berkley Corp.

Jamie Secor has been named president of the new business.
During her 25-year career in the insurance industry, Secor has held various executive and leadership positions. In 2024, Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. appointed Secor as chief underwriting officer at Hamilton Select, its U.S. excess and surplus insurer.
