Verisk, a global data analytics provider, is expanding its claims ecosystem by teaming up with Tractable, an applied artificial intelligence company.

By integrating with Tractable, which uses computer vision technology to visually assess damage to homes, Verisk aims to accelerate insurance claims processing and home repairs, according to a company press release.

Launched last year, Tractable’s AI property service allows policyholders to take and submit photos of damage through a mobile-friendly, web-based app. The AI, trained on a database of claims and damaged property, then identifies, classifies, and measures the property damage, enabling automated estimates to be generated on Verisk’s Xactimate platform.

LegalZoom.com Inc., a business formation and legal, compliance and tax services platform, and NEXT Insurance, a digital InsurTech company focused on small business insurance, announced a partnership to help small business owners create and protect their business online.

NEXT’s fully embedded insurance product, NEXT Connect, allows small business owners to get a quote for small business insurance and purchase a plan that works for them through the LegalZoom platform.

According to a LegalZoom survey of small business owners, just 9 percent of entrepreneurs indicated that they already had business insurance when forming their business. The research consisted of an online survey of business owners conducted by Magid. More than 1,800 individuals from the U.S. completed the survey, and responses were captured between Feb. 10-26, 2021.

LegalZoom continues to pursue a technology forward approach when it comes to partnerships and the products and services offered to small business owners with new partners like Wix and now NEXT Insurance.

In addition to the embedded experience with the LegalZoom platform, customers exploring small business insurance will have their information automatically populated, with their consent, within NEXT Connect, in order to explore the insurance options that are right for them. For those who aren’t ready to purchase insurance but want to learn more, LegalZoom is offering educational content within the Business Toolkit that can provide insurance information for entrepreneurs.
