Cowbell Cyber, an AI-powered cyber insurance provider for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), has appointed Kara Owens as its first chief insurance officer. She will oversee reinsurance partnerships, risk and portfolio management and drive new product development and innovation.

Owens’ prior positions include global executive underwriting officer for Cyber and ESG at Markel Corporation, global head of Cyber at TransRe and senior risk analyst at Guy Carpenter.

Owens is an active member of the Association of Professional Insurance Women (APIW) where she currently serves as the corporate secretary and programming chair. Since 2014, she has also been an active member of the Covenant House, a nonprofit organization that provides services to homeless and runaway youth.

Munich Re Specialty Insurance (MRSI) has named Sabrina Hart as president of its E&S business.

She is based in Atlanta and will report to MRSI President and CEO Michael Kerner.

Hart joins MRSI following a 25-year career with Zurich North America, the last seven years as executive vice president for the Midwest Region, responsible for the market execution and operations of the company’s commercial lines business across the region. She has also held senior leadership positions with several other industry-leading carriers and brokers.
