Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance hired a new UK Executive Underwriter focused on Executive and Professional lines. Duck Creek Technologies brought on a new Chief Marketing Officer.


Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance hired David Harries as Executive Underwriter, Executive and Professional Lines, UK.

Harries is an insurance industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in both Lloyd’s and company markets in the UK. He was most recently Active Underwriter DCH386 and Head of Financial Lines at QBE Insurance.

Vanessa Maxwell, BHSI’s head of E&P in the UK, said in prepared remarks that Harries “will play a key role” as the company continues expansion of its Executive and Professional Lines portfolio.


Duck Creek Technologies brought on Jeff Winter as its Chief Marketing Officer. He will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s global marketing strategy, including brand expansion, pipeline generation, product marketing, and customer marketing,

Winter will report to CEO Michael Jackowski and join Duck Creek’s Executive Committee.

Winter was previously at Rocket Software, a player in the global mainframe and legacy platform space, where he served as Chief Marketing Officer. Before that, Winter was the Divisional Chief Marketing Officer and Global Vice President for a Pitney Bowes software and data business. He also spent ten years at SAP in a variety of marketing leadership positions, as well as five years at IBM working across both marketing and strategy roles.

Duck Creek provides core system technology and services for the P/C and General insurance industry.
