QBE North America recently appointed a new chief operating officer. W.R. Berkley’s Acadia Insurance brought on a former New Hampshire insurance commissioner as its chief underwriting officer.

QBE North America appointed Dan Moore as its new chief operating officer.

Moore will lead Claims, Technology and Operations and oversee communications and branding, with the goal of strengthening QBE’s performance and customer-centered approach for delivering integrated risk management products and services. Reporting to QBE North America CEO Todd Jones, Moore will also serve as a member of QBE’s North America Executive Committee.

He had been serving as the interim Chief Operating Officer since January 30 of this year.

Moore is a 20-year insurance industry veteran. Previously he had been serving as Head of Operations since August 2018 to oversee a variety of centralized functions including Operations Services, Technical Operations, Operational Reporting, Underwriting Support, and Program Operations. Moore joined QBE in 2013 as Senior Vice President, Claims Services.

Before QBE, Moore worked for over nine years at Fireman’s Fund/Allianz in a variety of senior leadership roles across Claims, Risk Services, and Operations. Before Fireman’s Fund/Allianz, Moore provided strategy, operational, and enterprise transformation consulting to a variety of industries at Braun Consulting and Grant Thornton.
