The Institutes is forming a strategic affiliation with the International Insurance Society, both industry groups have announced.
IIS, an association for executives and experts in the global insurance industry, will become an affiliate of The Institutes, an education and research organization for the risk management and property/casualty insurance industry.
Both groups are framing the new setup as a way to expand opportunities for their members in terms of education and networking, among other services.
“By joining forces, we can create more opportunities for interaction, discussion and problem-solving, which in turn will help us tailor our [services and offerings] to meet the needs of a rapidly changing industry,” The Institutes President and CEO Peter Miller said in prepared remarks.
Mike Morrissey, president and CEO of IIS, said the alliance will allow his membership to take advantage of The Institutes’ designations, certifications and courses. He added that he sees the affiliation as benefiting his group’s annual Global Insurance Forum, which will be held this year from July 8-11 in Berlin, Germany.
“The Institutes have a stellar reputation as a knowledge leader throughout our industry, and we are excited about this opportunity to leverage their resources to enhance the benefits of IIS membership,” Morrissey said in prepared remarks.
