Hub International Ltd. said it acquired the assets of California-based Costello & Sons Insurance Brokers (CSI), a move that gives it commercial lines expertise in areas including venture capital and technology.
Neither side disclosed financial terms.
CSI specializes in commercial lines insurance for technology, venture capital and private equity firms, as well as private client services. The firm’s California offices are in San Rafael, Irvine, Santa Barbara and Walnut Creek.
The firm’s principals join a much larger Hub International, a global insurance brokerage based in Chicago and with offices throughout North America. Hub International provides property/casualty, life and health, employee benefits, investment and risk management products and services.
CSI CEO Bryan Costello will join Hub California and report to Kirk Christ, the division’s president.
