XL Group announced the appointment of a new chief investment officer. CSAA appointed a new chief risk officer. Great American promoted an executive to head its Environmental division.

XL Group Ltd. announced that Andre Keller will become its chief investment officer on Jan. 1, 2017, following the retirement of Benji Meuli at the end of this year.
Keller is currently head of Global Asset Positioning and a managing director. He will report to XL’s Chief Financial Officer Pete Porrino and will be based in New York City.
Keller previously was head of the CIO office and deputy CIO at Catlin Group Ltd. and was head of Asset Management and deputy CIO at Nationale Suisse, Basel.

CSAA Insurance Group, a AAA Insurer, has appointed Jeff Huebner as chief risk officer.
Huebner joined CSAA in 2001 as manager of Risk Finance and Captive operations. He most recently served as the vice president of treasury, overseeing an insurance and pension assets investment portfolio of $7 billion.
Huebner is the chairman of the board of governors for the California Insurance Guarantee Association, a $3 billion organization that takes responsibility for insolvencies of member insurers. He also serves on the board of directors for AAA Life Insurance Co. and Junior Achievement of Northern California.

Great American Insurance Group has promoted Mark Vuono to be divisional president of its Environmental division.
Vuono joined Great American in 2007 as divisional senior vice president of Underwriting for the Environmental division.
He previously served as executive underwriter for Worldwide Pollution within XL Insurance Co.
