QBE North America announced the appointment of Jose Ramon Gonzalez as its new chief legal officer. Gonzalez will provide expert guidance and oversight of the organization’s complex legal, regulatory and compliance activity.
He will report to Chief Operating Officer Susan Harnett.
Gonzalez has an extensive background in insurance law that affords him deep knowledge of this terrain both domestically and globally. He most recently served as general counsel and corporate secretary at Torus Insurance, deputy general counsel at Chartis Insurance, and assistant general counsel at AIG, among other leadership roles. Gonzalez began practicing law as a corporate associate at the law firm of Weil, Gotshal & Manges, working in the firm’s London and New York offices.
