On Thursday, GoTaxi announced that it had launched a new taxi insurance website in the U.K.

The website’s objective is to match taxi and cab drivers who are looking for all types of taxi insurance including public hire insurance, private hire insurance and taxi fleet insurance.

Taxi Insurance is currently a niche product which isn’t currently on all the big comparison websites, according to GoTaxi, which aims to make finding insurance for taxi drivers easier and quicker.

In a statement about the launch, Ben Moore, GoTaxi’s Business Development Manager, said that his team’s market research found that taxi drivers are mainly looking “to find a good deal” when the shop for insurance. “The biggest challenge for taxi drivers was getting a good deal with comprehensive cover,” he said, adding that “a lot of people also said that it was also about being able to get a quote quickly and easily.”

“We have a good number of brokers on board so customers can be rest assured that we’ll be able to provide them with the best insurance to match their needs,” Moore added.

Moore plans to make the site into a resource for people in the industry and provide visitors with essential information and the latest news, noting that it will be updated on a regular basis with events, industry news and other useful information.
