CNA Financial Corporation announced Monday that Christopher Leisz has been appointed as Senior Vice President & Chief Underwriting Officer for Specialty, effective Feb. 14, 2014.

Leisz will take on the oversight and governance for specialty products within Professional Services, Financial Institutions, Management Liability and Healthcare, CNA said.

He joins CNA with more than 13 years of insurance industry experience, most recently serving as Midwest Regional Executive for Hiscox USA, where he was responsible for production growth, marketing, distribution strategy and account management.

Prior to that, he led development of Hiscox USA’s management and professional liability suite of products. He also held roles with American International Group, Inc. and spent time as a coverage attorney.
