Lloyd’s insurer Advent has named Nigel Fitzgerald as chief executive officer. The company said the appointment completes his planned transition to the CEO role since Fitzgerald’s arrival at Advent in November, 2012 as chief operating officer. He succeeds James Migliorini, who became CEO on 1 January ,2012 and who will continue as a director of Advent.
Fitzgerald has 15 years of insurance and reinsurance experience, having previously worked for Liberty International Underwriters overseeing product line operations in 11 countries. He has also been senior vice president at Crum & Forster, the U.S. based insurance company, which along with Advent is a subsidiary of Fairfax Financial Services Ltd.
Over the past six months, Advent has made a series of senior appointments, including naming William Beveridge as chief underwriting officer for the insurance classes.
Through its subsidiaries, Fairfax engages in global property/casualty insurance and reinsurance and investment management. Advent underwrites through Syndicate 780 at Lloyd’s
