For a business to thrive, it needs to keep its employees happy. Organizations with engaged employees regularly outperform competitors with lower levels of employee satisfaction and engagement. Outperform, as in high engagement is linked to higher profits. It’s also clear that when workers aren’t satisfied, they’re more likely to seek opportunities elsewhere.

However, knowing that you need to keep your workers happy isn’t the same thing as knowing how to keep them happy. Offering perks isn’t enough. According to a study by Harvard Business Review Analytic Services, 72 percent of leaders at major companies believe that recognizing top performers is key to boosting engagement.
