Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance announced Sunday that it received a non-life insurance license in Singapore, and named several executives to staff up the operation—two formerly from AIG and one for Catlin.

The executives are:

  • Marc Breuil, taking the role of regional president,who was most recently president and CEO of AIG Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. He comes to BHSI with over 20 years of international insurance experience, including more than a decade in various senior level posts in the Asian market.
  • Marcus Portbury, becoming head of third-party lines, was most recently regional head of casualty, Asia Pacific, for AIG. He spent more than two decades in the insurance industry at various broking and insurance organizations in Australia, Canada, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
  • Peter McKenna, head of energy and construction casualty,was most recently Asia head of casualty at Catlin. He joins BHSI with more than 25 years of experience spanning both casualty claims and underwriting in Australia and Singapore.

BHSI is introducing a full range of commercial insurance products in Singapore, including commercial property, casualty, energy & construction, marine, and financial lines.
