Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed David Saillen as Chief Underwriting Officer Europe, effective immediately.
Based in Zurich, Saillen will report jointly to Pierre-Edouard Fraigneau, president of LSM’s European region, and Ronald Bolaños, Global CUO, Liberty International Insurance. He succeeds Fraigneau, who became president of the European region earlier this year. Fraigneau retains the legal and regulatory responsibilities associated with Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe.
Saillen has been at Liberty for over a decade, heading up fine art and specie in Continental Europe. He was previously managing director of AXA ART Switzerland Ltd. and head of global distribution at AXA ART.
Fraigneau said that Saillen “has been fundamental in shaping our fine art and specie book in Europe, building it out into the market-leading offering we have today. He is an innovator, a technical expert, and a passionate advocate for positive change. Under his leadership, our brilliant European teams will continue to leverage global reach through a local lens.”

Cowbell has appointed John Botros as Chief Financial Officer. He will oversee global finance operations at Cowbell as the company advances its next cycle of growth, profitability and international expansion.
Botros most recently served as CFO at Resilience, where he led investor relations, strategic initiatives, financial planning, revenue operations and board engagement for the cyber‑risk solutions provider. He was named among the Top 25 CFOs in San Francisco by Finance & Investing in 2023. Most recently, he was included in Marquis Who’s Who for his leadership in financial strategy and technology.

W.R. Berkley Corporation announced that Lee Iannarone has been named executive vice president. He previously served as senior VP and general counsel since joining the company in 2023. Iannarone has more than 25 years of experience, including as general counsel and chief compliance officer for an internationally recognized (re)insurer.
He is succeeded by Stephen Kennedy, who has been named senior VP and general counsel. Kennedy joined W. R. Berkley Corporation as vice president – senior counsel in 2020. Prior to joining Berkley, he served as a senior equity partner at an international law firm, VP – litigation & claims counsel at a leading domestic reinsurance company, and as a litigation associate at another international law firm.
W.R. Berkley Corporation also announced the appointment of Erin Rotz as president of Berkley Fire & Marine. Rotz has more than 20 years of inland marine and construction underwriting experience. She most recently led the inland marine division at a large multinational carrier.
The appointments are effective immediately.
