Guy Carpenter announced the appointment of Keith Wolfe to the newly created role of chief commercial officer, North America, effective immediately.

He reports to John Trace, CEO of Guy Carpenter North America.

In this role, Wolfe will help drive growth strategies across the region, in collaboration with the North America Segments and Centers of Excellence. He will lead a Client Executive Management team that drives strategic engagements with clients and prospects. He will also lead Guy Carpenter’s U.S. facultative business alongside Frank Guerriero, chairman of GC FAC. Wolfe joins Guy Carpenter after 27 years with Swiss Re and its predecessor companies, where he held a number of leadership positions, most recently serving as president, U.S. Property & Casualty.

Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Ronald Bolaños as chief underwriting officer. He will report to both Matthew Moore, president of Underwriting, Global Risk Solutions (GRS), and Phil Hobbs, president and managing director, LSM. Bolaños has led LSM’s U.S. and Latin America business since 2020.

Manuel Moreno becomes president, LSM, U.S. and Latin America, while maintaining his existing role of CUO, LSM U.S. and Latin America. In his new position, Moreno reports to both Bolaños and Hobbs.

Bolaños and Moreno will remain based in Miami and the appointments are effective immediately.

Arch Insurance North America announced the appointment of Prabhu Venkataraman as chief information officer.

In this role, Venkataraman is responsible for leading technology implementation and services across the segment, with a particular focus on strategic alignment, data enablement and empowering the business. He reports to Prashant Nema, executive vice president and chief information officer of Arch Capital Services LLC, and Brian First, president of Arch Insurance North America.

Venkataraman joins Arch from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where he was senior vice president, Enterprise Applications and Architecture. He has more than two decades of industry experience, including technology and operational leadership positions at MassMutual Financial Group, Hewlett Packard, Cognizant Technology Solutions and others.

“Having led complex technology transformations and implementation at scale, Prabhu brings a wealth of specialized expertise that will be critical to evolving our insurance operating model, with a north star technology platform and tech talent with modern skills,” Nema said.

Wholesale broker Amwins appointed Jason Kunert to the newly created position of head of Claims.

In his new role, Kunert will be responsible for leading efforts around building and managing Amwins’ formal claims infrastructure.

“As a wholesale insurance distributor, our commitment to our carrier partners and retail agents is uncompromising,” said Mark Bernacki, chief underwriting officer at Amwins. “We’re excited to bring Jason on as our first-ever head of claims, reinforcing the strategic investments we’re making to continue driving value for our clients as we help them win.”

Kunert is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, most recently with Hiscox USA leading a claims group handling General Liability, Allied Health and Entertainment claims throughout the country. He previously led casualty claims teams at RLI and Nationwide.
