AXA XL has appointed Lucy Pilko as CEO for the Americas region of its insurance operations, effective Oct. 30, 2023.

She assumes the role from Joseph Tocco, who has decided to retire after more than 12 years as a senior executive in the company’s Insurance business. He will remain as a special advisor through 2023.

Pilko will lead AXA XL’s insurance business in the Americas, comprised of its U.S., Canada and Bermuda operations. She brings over 20 years of insurance industry consulting experience, most recently as managing director and senior partner for Boston Consulting Group (BCG), leading its North American Insurance practice across Commercial Lines, Personal Lines, Brokerage, Individual and Group Life, and Reinsurance.

Guy Carpenter on Tuesday announced the appointment of Julian Enoizi as CEO of Guy Carpenter Europe, effective immediately.

Enoizi will be based in Europe and report to Laurent Rousseau, CEO of Guy Carpenter Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Global Capital Solutions.

Enoizi joined Guy Carpenter in April 2022, serving as the global leader of its Public Sector Solutions Practice, which he will continue to lead until a successor is appointed. Prior to joining Guy Carpenter, he served as CEO of Pool Re, a position he took up in 2013. Previously, he held senior Europe-based roles at Chubb and AIG Europe before becoming CEO of CNA Europe and later president and CEO of Argo International.

Dorothee Mélis-Moutafis, who has served as interim CEO of Guy Carpenter Europe since April, will take on a new executive role where she will be responsible for strategic C-suite engagement for current and prospective clients, while also continuing in her role as a global account executive.

Mélis-Moutafis joined Guy Carpenter in 2013 and has held a succession of senior management positions in Europe and the U.S., most recently as interim CEO of Guy Carpenter Europe and chief operating officer of Guy Carpenter North America.

American International Group (AIG) announced that Lucy Fato will transition from her current role as executive vice president, general counsel and global head of Communications and Government Affairs to vice chair at AIG, effective Oct. 1, 2023. In this newly created role, she will report to Peter Zaffino, chairman and CEO of AIG.

Rose Marie Glazer, EVP, chief human resources and diversity officer, will serve as interim general counsel and head of Government Affairs and Jennifer Silane, chief of staff to the chairman and CEO of AIG, will serve as interim head of Global Communications in addition to their current roles until permanent successors for Fato are named.
