Hamilton Insurance Group Ltd. announced the appointment of Alex Baker as group chief risk officer, effective Jan. 1, 2023, subject to regulatory approval.

Baker will report to group CEO Pina Albo and replaces Pete Skerlj, who is joining Vantage Group Holdings.

Prior to joining Hamilton in 2016, Baker was the chief actuary of Chubb Managing Agent Ltd. (CMAL) where he was responsible for all actuarial work for the Lloyd’s Syndicate 1882 and held “Approved Person” status from the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) of the Bank of England. He served as a Capital Modelling Actuary from May 2011 to June 2013 with Chubb Insurance Co. of Europe and CMAL. Baker was a key contributor to Syndicate 1882’s internal model approval process under Solvency II.

Marsh has appointed Michael Kolodner as global renewable energy leader, Marsh Specialty. Kolodner rejoined Marsh in 2020 as U.S. power and renewable energy leader. In his new role, he will maintain his current responsibilities while also leading an integrated team of more than 250 renewable energy specialists around the world.

Kolodner brings more than 20 years of operational, brokerage, advisory and underwriting experience in clean energy risk and insurance management to his expanded global role. He is a former U.S. Naval nuclear submarine officer, risk manager for Exelon Corporation, leader of Marsh’s U.S. Nuclear Energy Practice and vice president of underwriting for Nuclear Electric Insurance Ltd.

Amwins Global Risks has appointed Mark Cody as managing director, effective Jan. 1, 2023.

In his new role, Cody will lead team sales support activity, focus on strategic recruitment, enhance client and carrier relationships, and identify and capitalize on product capability gaps.

Cody most recently led the construction, treaty, property and binding authority teams for Amwins Global Risks and joined Amwins through the THB Group Ltd. acquisition in 2012.
