QBE announced that it has named Chris Killourhy as managing director of QBE Re. The appointment is effective Sept. 1, subject to regulatory approval.

Killourhy succeeds Steve Postlewhite, who left the company in June after a four-year tenure. At the time, Peter Wilkins, QBE Re’s chief underwriting officer, assumed the role of interim managing director.

Killourhy is currently role chief financial officer of QBE International. He is a fellow of the UK Faculty & Institute of Actuaries and has worked for international re/insurance and consulting companies across the globe. He also spent time with the Bermuda Monetary Authority, where his responsibilities included the supervision of reinsurer capital and catastrophe models. He joined QBE in June 2015 and has held a number of roles including chief actuarial officer and chief financial officer for QBE’s Australia Pacific division, before returning to the UK in 2020 to take up the role of CFO for QBE International.

Zurich Insurance Group has appointed Stephen Moss as group head of Financial Lines and Cyber and Andreas Schmitt as group Cyber underwriting manager. Both appointments will be effective as of Sept. 1, 2022.

Moss joined Zurich in 2017 as head of Specialties, UK, and has more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. In his new role, Moss will be responsible for Professional Indemnity, D&O, Financial Institutions, Mergers & Acquisitions, Cyber and Legal Indemnities. He will report to Hayley Robinson, group chief underwriting officer, and continue to be based in the UK.

Schmitt joins Zurich from Munich Re, where he successfully built strong cyber capabilities as their head of Cyber, Asia. In his new role, he will work closely with Zurich’s country offices worldwide to ensure a consistent and enhanced cyber underwriting approach and provide product expertise and counsel to optimize underwriting performance. He will report to Moss and be based in Switzerland.

Pie Insurance announced that Ekta Aggarwal has joined the company as chief product officer and Erin Mesick as vice president of Finance.

In her new role, Aggarwal is responsible for scaling the product team and driving innovation across the company’s road map. Most recently, she was leading the product and behavioral science team for Microsoft Viva, Employee Experience Cloud, to help drive innovative features and AI-based insights to empower employees and organizations in their well-being and productivity. Prior to Microsoft, she was general manager of Collaborative Shopping at Amazon, where she oversaw Customer Q&A, Wish List, Share, Conversation service and other customer experience-driven innovations.

As VP of Finance, Mesick oversees the financial planning and analysis team and is responsible for leading the organization’s strategic finance functions, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and KPI reporting. She was previously a vice president at Realtor.com, where she held leadership roles in finance, strategy and operations.

Chubb has appointed Chris Eappariello as president of Consumer Lines for its Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, effective immediately.

He will be responsible for a newly created regional segment that comprises Chubb’s Specialty Personal Lines (SPL), Accident and Health (A&H) affinity, consumer travel and direct marketing businesses, including its digital capabilities, across 26 countries.

Eappariello previously served as executive vice president of Specialty Personal Lines and chief marketing officer Personal Lines International. He will continue to be based in London and will report to David Furby, regional president, EMEA.
