Thomas will report to Group CEO Pina Albo and be based in Bermuda. Pending immigration and regulatory approvals, her anticipated start date will be in October.

Hamilton, in prepared remarks, said Thomas brings a number of important skills to the company during a hardening market, including global underwriting experience “across multiple lines of business” and “her strong leadership and relationships with clients and brokers.”

Thomas is a 20-year insurance and reinsurance industry veteran. Australian by birth and a lawyer by training, she was most recently at AXIS Capital where she has served as Chief Underwriting Officer, Reinsurance for the last two years. Thomas began her career in the Australian insurance and financial services market, and spent almost 13 years at AIG in increasingly senior roles before joining AXIS.
