
Swiss Re America executive, William (Bill) E. Donnell, is set to leave his post at the reinsurance to become the new president and chief executive officer of the National Council of Compensation Insurance, NCCI announced Friday.
Donnell, takes the new position at NCCI effective Dec. 7, 2015, eventually replacing Stephen J. Klingel, who is retiring in February 2016. Several months overlap will provide a smooth transition for the industry and stakeholders, NCCI said.
Donnell is currently the president, U.S. Property and Casualty Reinsurance for Swiss Re America Holding Corporation.
Previously, he has served in various leadership positions at Swiss Re, GE Insurance Solutions, Universal Underwriters and Crum & Forster Holdings Corp.
Donnell’s 30-plus years of domestic and global insurance experience include executive responsibility for business strategy, branding, customer service, financial plans, market leadership, employee engagement, technology, and more, NCCI said.
