ACE Group promoted Stephen Crabb to the newly created role of head of claims for the Eurasia and Africa region.

ace_logo_1Crabb, who will be based in London, is currently political risk and energy claims manager for ACE European Group. The insurance giant said that the new position and Crabb’s appointment to it reflects a continued focus on building management and service capabilities in both emerging market regions.

Crabb’s new position at ACE involves managing ACE’s claims operations in Eurasia and Africa across all business lines. As well, he is the division point person for regional leadership, guidance and direction.

Before joining ACE in January 2011, Crabb worked as a claims manager at Beazley for three years. He was also a solicitor, specializing in insurance law.

Bermuda-based Mt. Logan Re Ltd. has a new head of business development.

Chris Caponigro was most recently with Platinum Underwriters Bermuda, Ltd., where he served as head of North American catastrophe lines before Renaissance Re acquired the company. Previously, he also worked at St. Paul Re.

Caponigro has more than 20 years of experience in areas including property, specialty and structured underwriting, as well as various financial and analytical roles.

Mt. Logan Re, Ltd. is Everest Re Group Ltd.’s special purpose reinsurer, formed in January 2013 to provide collateralized capacity to the global property catastrophe reinsurance market.

DUAL, the underwriting arm of the Hyperion Insurance Group, appointed Amanda Hayes as managing director of Latin America and Caribbean business development.

Hayes, who starts her new job on Aug. 1, is switching from RK Harrison, where she was divisional director of their reinsurance broking arm. Previously, she has held executive roles at companies including Aon Group and Health de Colombia.

AON CORPORATION LOGOAon plc said it appointed Qin Lu as CEO of Aon Benfield Greater China, and CEO of Aon Risk Solutions China, effective later this year, pending China regulatory approval.

In his new role, Qin will join the management teams of Aon Benfield and Aon Risk Solutions. He’ll report to Malcom Steingold, CEO, Asia Pacific, Aon Benfield, and Sandeep Malik, CEO Aon Risk Solutions Asia. Qin will be based in Hong Kong.

Qin has more than 20 years of insurance industry experience. He served in various executive positions at Swiss Re, most recently as president of Swiss Re, China, and member of Swiss Re’s Asia management team.
