Spencer Re, a reinsurance firm focused on products predictable in nature, has brought on a veteran Zurich Insurance Group executive as its new CEO.
Tina Youngblood Mallie, also vice chair of Spencer Capital Holdings, was most recently U.S. CEO at Cunningham Lindsey. Before that, she was an executive at Zurich Insurance Group for more than a decade. She ran divisions there including Programs & Direct Markets for Zurich North America, and was also Head of Direct Markets and Head of Construction services, among other executive slots at the company.
As well, Mallie once worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she was Global Partner Affairs Leader.
In a statement, Mallie said she plans as CEO “on not only helping to grow the reinsurance business but also fostering the culture of high integrity that drew me to the firm in the first place.”
Spencer Re bills itself as a reinsurance firm that zeroes in on reinsuring products “predictable in nature.” Formed in Puerto Rico, it abides by the laws of the International and Offshore Insurance Center, according to the company. Initially, Spenser Re is focused on reinsuring insurance products sold by American auto dealers, direct marketers and loan providers.
