Houston-based HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. announced that Lydia I. Beebe, a former Chevron Corp. executive, has been elected as an independent member of the specialty insurance company’s board of directors, effective Mar. 5, 2015.
Beebe has 35 years of experience in corporate governance and tax, has served as chief governance officer and corporate secretary of Chevron since 1995. From 1977 to 1995, she held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility with Chevron.
She plans to retire from Chevron in April 2015.
Beebe also currently serves as a board member of the Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University and the Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware.
On HCC’s board, she will serve on the Nominating and Corporate Governance committee.
