Ironshore International announced the opening of an office in Hong Kong to build upon the company’s presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
The addition of the office demonstrates Ironshore’s commitment to the Asian market, focusing on North Asia, China, Japan and South Korea, the company said in a statement.
Melody Qian has been named general manager of Ironshore Hong Kong Ltd. She will report to Chen Dai, head of Asia at Ironshore International.
Qian most recently served as manager for Asia at Liberty International Underwriters in Hong Kong, overseeing commercial D&O and financial institutions products as well as developing the business lines portfolio for North Asia. Prior positions also include senior manager with Chubb Specialty Insurance in Shanghai and underwriter with American International Group in Shanghai.
Ironshore Hong Kong will underwrite the company’s suite of specialty product lines as well as provide access to syndicated consortium capacity through its Lloyd’s Pembroke Managing Agency Ltd., based in London.
