Adam Hamm was appointed North Dakota Insurance Commissioner by Governor John Hoeven in October 2007, elected to a four-year term in November 2008 and re-elected to a second four-year term in November 2012. He announced in December 2015 that he would not be running for a third term. As such, 2016 is his final year as North Dakota’s chief insurance regulator. Hamm was an elected officer of the NAIC for four years (2011-2014), served as NAIC President in 2014, and he’s been Chair of the NAIC’s Cybersecurity Task Force since its formation. He was also selected to serve on the U.S. Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC) to represent the interests of all the nation's state insurance regulators. He may be reached at awhamm59@nd.gov.
