CCC Intelligent Solutions Inc., a software as a service platform for the property/casualty insurance industry, introduced the CCC First Party Claim Portal, a new digital capability that aims to streamline the casualty claims process for insurance customers and their policyholders.

The First Party Claim Portal enables injured parties to digitally interact with their insurer, exchange information pertaining to an auto-related injury claim and receive claim status in real-time. Financial services company USAA collaborated with CCC to bring this capability to reality.

This is the latest service in CCC’s casualty claims technology offering, which spans first-and third-party claims management. At first notice of loss, an insurance staff adjuster can invite the injured party to login to the First Party Claim Portal, set-up their communications preferences and begin taking advantage of a range of digital capabilities, including mobile document sharing and real-time text or email updates on claims status.

Buoy, an affiliate of bolt agency, is collaborating with Markel to introduce a new insurance offering for boat renters and liveries with app-based technology that enables check-in and check-out, safety education, compliance, and facilitates liability coverage for liveries and renters as required by Florida’s Boating Safety Act of 2022.

Starting January 1, 2023, the Florida law requires boat liveries and renters to obtain insurance of $500,000 per person and $1 million per occurrence during the rental period in order to obtain an operators’ permit from the Florida Wildlife Commission (FWC).

The Florida Boating Safety Act of 2022 requires liveries, or boat rental operators, to carry a commercial policy that names the livery and the renter on the same form and carry the required limits.

Buoy plans to expand beyond Florida in the future.
