The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) launched the Severe Injury Dashboard offering employers a chance to view trending severe injuries.
The online tool offers data collected from Jan. 1, 2015, through Dec. 23, 2023.
Severe injuries reported during the period totaled 88,234.

The number of employees hospitalized during that time totaled 71,978.
Workers who had amputations totaled 23,371.
Texas was the top state for severe injuries reported.
The top five exposures included:
- Caught in running equipment or machinery during regular operation (6,689)
- Other fall to lower level, unspecified (5,915)
- Caught in running equipment or machinery during maintenance, cleaning (5,271)
- Compressed or pinched by shifting objects or equipment (4,976)
- Fall on same level due to slipping (3,659)
