Executives on the Move at QBE NA, The Hanover, Arch

QBE North America announced two key executive appointments:

Rachel Pollack has been appointed chief people officer, responsible for leading the development and implementation of the North America people strategy to support and enable the enterprise strategy, as well as business-specific strategies and initiatives. Pollack joined QBE in 2008 and has held a variety of roles in change management, human resources, culture and business transformation, most recently serving as group people director, Global Corporate Functions, and before that group head of enterprise culture, a role she pioneered.

David Mulligan has been named chief operating officer, responsible for identifying, planning and executing large-scale change projects to improve process efficiency, reduce complexity and increase cost savings while enhancing workforce capability and the customer experience. Mulligan joined QBE in 2013 as VP, IT Strategy and Transformation, after which he took on broader responsibilities as VP, Business Transformation, and then SVP, Business Transformation. Prior to QBE, David held leadership and consulting roles at Anthem, Paradox Advisors, CUNA Mutual Group, Accenture, Best Buy and Deloitte Consulting.

The Hanover Insurance Group has appointed Kate B. Williams president of excess and surplus. In this role, she will oversee the company’s full range of E&S solutions for the property/casualty needs of small to midsize customers.

Prior to joining the company, Williams spent over 12 years at Markel, most recently serving as managing director and product line leader of Markel’s primary casualty portfolio. She has nearly 21 years of experience, having served in a variety of underwriting and producer roles at James River Insurance Company, Chas. Lunsford Sons & Associates and Colony Insurance Company.

Arch Insurance North America announced that Lauren Dieterich has joined the company as chief operating officer. She reports to Brian First, president of Arch Insurance North America, and will be a member of the North American executive leadership team.

Dieterich has more than 20 years of specialty insurance experience, most recently serving as head of Operations and Digital, Surplus and Specialty at Crum & Forster Insurance.
