Executives on the Move at Chubb, CFC, Sure, Integris

Chubb has named Bill Hazelton as executive vice president, head of North America Industry Practices. In this newly created role, he will lead the company’s efforts to enhance delivery of comprehensive industry-focused insurance coverages, risk engineering and claims services to customers in all market segments.

Hazelton will continue to serve in his current role as Real Estate & Hospitality Industry Practice leader and oversee the practice’s casualty profit and loss performance. He will continue to report to John Lupica, vice chairman, Chubb Group and president, North America.

Chubb North America Industry Practices include Real Estate & Hospitality, Life Sciences, Construction, Private Equity, Energy, Financial Institutions, Transportation, Manufacturing, Technology and Healthcare. Hazelton will partner with industry practice leaders from Chubb’s large, middle and small commercial market segments as well as its wholesale excess and surplus business line (Westchester), and Bermuda-based property/casualty insurance business to strengthen the company’s best-in-class offerings for clients across these industry sectors.

CFC, a specialist insurance provider with a focus on emerging risk and cyber, has appointed George Beattie to the newly created position of head of Innovation.

Beattie will be starting his new role in January 2023 and joins CFC from Beazley, where he has led the incubation underwriting function for the past two years. He remains in his role as Co-Chair of the Product Launchpad at Lloyd’s.

Global InsurTech Sure has appointed Vic Russo as chief financial officer.

Russo is the third C-level appointment for Sure in less than eight months and the first CFO in the history of the company. He will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Sure’s finance and accounting operations in support of the company’s next phase of growth.

Russo brings over 20 years of experience as a finance executive at private and public technology companies where he has led corporate and M&A strategy and built cross-functional operating procedures and corporate governance programs for high-growth companies. Prior to joining Sure, Russo held the CFO role at two other SaaS companies, New York-based Reachdesk and Electric AI. During his career, he has served in key integration roles of major M&A transactions, including the $3.1 billion sale of DoubleClick to Google and Buddy Media’s $745 million sale to Salesforce.com.

Integris Group, a member-owned medical professional liability insurance company, announced that it has hired Kirk C. Tweedy as its new chief operating officer.

Tweedy has over 32 years of insurance experience across multiple disciplines, product lines and distribution channels. Most recently, he served as COO at Berkley Small Business Solutions, where he was responsible for all areas of the business, including growth, profitability, planning, execution, staff recruitment and staff development. Prior to that, he was the vice president, head of Agencies, Compliance and Administration (National) at Farmers Insurance.
