Tech Bytes: New Partnerships at Cowbell Cyber, Nationwide, CAPE Analytics

March 28, 2022

Cowbell Cyber, an artificial intelligence-powered cyber insurance provider for small to medium enterprises (SMEs), last month announced its partnership with Trend Micro as it works to improve access to cyber insurance.

The partnership gives Trend Micro’s MSP partners and customers exclusive access to an all-digital application process for Prime 100 cyber insurance policies.

The partnership enhances Cowbell’s ability to enable closed-loop risk management for policyholders, as the two companies will be able to provide their mutual customers with real-time insights to reduce risk exposures. Cowbell will also continue working with Trend Micro to build deeper technology integrations.

Cowbell also recently announced a partnership with iBynd as it works to expand cyber insurance distribution. iBynd’s embedded proprietary technology will enable customers of Cowbell’s affiliated brokers, technology partners and managed security services providers to directly rate, quote and bind Cowbell’s insurance offerings digitally in real time. Additionally, iBynd will begin to deliver Cowbell’s cyber insurance to SMEs through iBynd’s own distribution network.

Nationwide is teaming up with NoCell to help curb distracted driving among trucking fleets.

Nationwide commercial fleet customers will now have access to NoCell’s distracted driving management platform. The technology helps remove distraction risks by disabling disruptive apps and cellphone capabilities while drivers are rolling, enabling employers to more effectively carry out their custom mobile device policies with their fleets. NoCell’s user data shows a more than 70 percent reduction in phone handling events after 10 days of use with customers.

Fleet managers who take advantage of this new offering will have the ability to choose which apps their drivers have access to while the vehicle is in motion. The NOCELL solution—compatible with both Android and IOS—uses an app on the driver’s device, a non-intrusive NOCELLtag connected to the vehicle and a back-end system to detect when vehicles are in motion, disable unauthorized mobile phone capabilities and alert fleet managers when phone handling events take place.

The new NOCELL solution adds to a suite of risk management services and telematics capabilities offered to Nationwide E&S commercial auto insureds.

CAPE Analytics, a provider of artificial intelligence-powered geospatial property intelligence, announced its partnership with Cypress, a Florida and Texas-based property/casualty insurance provider.

This partnership aims to drive faster underwriting decisions, support new business quoting and reduce unexpected loss due to incomplete or out-of-date property information. The integration provides Cypress’s personal and commercial lines businesses with access to CAPE’s property data and roof condition rating insights to streamline underwriting and renewal processes and verify eligible properties efficiently.

CAPE property intelligence is used on 100 percent of incoming commercial residential condominium association submissions to screen properties for potential condition issues upfront, reducing the likelihood of post-bind changes and streamlining renewal conversations around any potential safety concerns.
