Executives on the Move at Munich Re US, Brit, GuideOne, NIA

Maura Haynes has been appointed head of Casualty at Munich Re US.

She is now part of the Reinsurance Division’s Executive Leadership Team reporting to Marcus Winter.

Haynes joins Munich Re from SCOR, where she most recently served as team leader of U.S. Casualty. She has more than 20 years of underwriting experience in the reinsurance industry, with prior roles at Swiss Re, Folksamerica Reinsurance Co and CNA Re.

Brit Ltd. has appointed Kanika Chaganty to the newly created role of chief data officer.

Chaganty will report to newly appointed Chief Technology Officer Bilge Mert and be responsible for Brit’s centralized team of data expertise, including data science, analytics, data engineering and data governance. She began her role on Jan. 31, 2022.

She joins from Vitality UK Group, where she has been for almost 10 years, most recently holding the role of chief data officer. She has also held roles with data consulting companies Business & Decision (now Sopra Steria) in the UK, Al Tayer Group in Dubai, Radiologix Inc. in the U.S. and Oracle & Citicorp groups in India.

GuideOne Insurance Company has appointed Patrick Daley as senior vice president and chief underwriting officer, effective Jan. 31, 2022.

In this role, Daley is responsible for niche product management, home office underwriting, underwriting compliance and business systems.

Daley most recently served as head of large property field operations at The Hartford, where he led the commercial field underwriting teams and developed the national property strategy. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Zurich North America.

Nonprofits Insurance Alliance (NIA), which is exclusively focused on the 501(c)(3) nonprofit sector, has promoted Dusti McKeown to co-chief underwriting officer.

McKeown will share the co-CUO title with Brian Johnson, who has been CUO at NIA since 2015. The appointment is effective Feb. 1, 2022.

“Dusti’s contributions to NIA for the last 23 years are substantial,” said Pamela Davis, founder, President, and CEO of NIA. “Dusti has been instrumental in leading day-to-day insurance operations as a senior manager, and her high-level vision of our mission has helped set the strategy for NIA underwriting.”
