Chubb Gives COO Keogh Added Title of President

December 2, 2020

Chubb has given longtime Chief Operating Officer John Keogh the added title of president.

As before, Keogh will continue to report to Chubb Chairman and CEO Evan Greenberg, and he’ll continue to handle his existing companywide responsibilities.

Greenberg said in prepared remarks that the added executive title for Keogh better encompasses what he does for the company.

“The title of President more appropriately reflects [Keogh’s] current wide-ranging responsibilities and importance to the success of our company and is in recognition of his exceptional contributions and leadership over the course of his 14 years as my partner and trusted colleague,” Greenberg said.

He added that Keogh “continues to demonstrate the skill, character and intellect that exemplify great leadership, including a true command and level of execution excellence across our global insurance operations.”

Keogh first became COO in 2011. He joined pre-merger company ACE in 2006 as Chairman, Insurance – Overseas General. He was appointed Vice Chairman in 2010 and Executive Vice Chairman in 2015.

Before ACE, Keogh held a number of executive positions over 20 years with American International Group, including Senior Vice President, Domestic General Insurance, and President and Chief Executive Officer of National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, an AIG member company. He began his insurance career as an underwriter with AIG in 1986.
