Hamilton Promotes Three as Lloyd’s Managing Agency CEO, CUO Resign

Hamilton Insurance Group announced three promotions in the leadership team at its Lloyd’s operations following the resignations of Hamilton Managing Agency Limited CEO Tim Glover and Chief Underwriting Officer David White.

The company gave no reason for the resignations of Glover and White.

“Thanks to the considerable groupwide bench strength at Hamilton, we’ve been able to move quickly to activate our robust succession plan,” said Hamilton Group CEO Pina Albo in announcing the promotions.

The promotions are subject to regulatory approval.

Adrian Daws, currently active underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 4000, will be promoted to the position of chief executive officer of Hamilton Managing Agency, replacing Glover. He was previously active underwriter of Syndicate 3334 at Hamilton which he joined in 2015 as head of Specialty and deputy active underwriter. Before joining Hamilton, Daws headed up the Specialty Division at CNA Hardy and worked at Trenwick and Limit as a Financial Institutions underwriter.

Miles Osorio, deputy active underwriter and head of Property, will assume the position of active underwriter of Lloyd’s Syndicate 4000. Osorio has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry in both underwriting and management roles. He joined Hamilton from Hardy Syndicate where he was head of Property. Prior to that, he spent seven years at Montpelier Syndicate where he developed the International Property book and nine years at Bowring Marsh as senior vice president with responsibility for Asia Pacific. Osorio started his career in 1990 at Willis Faber and Dumas as an International Property broker.

In addition to her role head of Property Binders, Mel Alexander will assume the position of chief underwriting officer, London branch, for Hamilton Insurance DAC, the company’s Dublin-based carrier. Alexander is a former head of global property at Ironshore and has also held position with Shepherd Compello, Decus Insurance Brokers and Arthur J. Gallagher.

Glover, the outgoing CEO of Hamilton Managing Agency (formerly Pembroke Managing Agency Limited), has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. Prior to working at Hamilton, Glover had several roles at Pembroke Managing Agency, including CEO and chief underwriting officer. He began his career at Lloyd’s in 1989 at RM Pateman Managing Agency and has also worked at Hiscox and SVB Syndicates Ltd.

Prior to working at Hamilton, White held a number of senior positions at Pembroke Managing Agency Limited and Ironshore, including chief underwriting officer, head of Distribution and director of Professional Lines before the acquisition by Hamilton in 2019. White was part of the team that founded Syndicate 4000 at the end of 2004. He has also worked at SVB Syndicates and began his career as a broker.

Bermuda-based Hamilton Insurance Group, underwrites specialty insurance and reinsurance risks on a global basis through its wholly owned subsidiaries.
