Digital insurance agency Simply Business will be the first distributor to work with AXIS Insurance, the specialty insurance business segment of AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, on a new product intended for U.S. small business owners who conduct business from their homes.

AXIS Home Based Business is a customized coverage that will fill the gaps left by homeowners policies, covering the unexpected events that could jeopardize the business.

“Being able to offer this product reflects our continuing mission to serve the unique needs of small business owners, and it comes at a critical moment, as many entrepreneurs have been forced to work from their homes due to the pandemic,” said Simply Business CEO David Summers.

Great American Insurance Group has announced the launch of pomi, a digital platform for accident and health (A&H) insurance.

Using pomi (an acronym for Peace of Mind Insurance), brokers can quote and bind most blanket special risk policies in just a few minutes. The platform has been customized for brokers selling A&H insurance to industries such as daycare centers, nonprofits, after-school activities and camps.

In addition to the digital platform, getpomi.com will provide self-service conveniences including online custom quote submissions for businesses such as public and private K-12 schools, colleges, universities and health clubs. Appointment request forms and other information will also be available.

The Travelers Companies has enhanced its Traverse mobile app with image recognition technology, allowing its personal insurance customers to purchase a policy in under a minute by using their smartphone to take a photo of the item they wish to insure and answering a few simple questions.

The app also lets users access a rewards program where they can refer friends to learn more about Traverse and complete other challenges to earn points, which are redeemable for gift cards.

The new photo feature and access to the rewards system are currently available on the Traverse app for customers in Texas and will be offered in additional markets in the future.
