Specialty insurer and reinsurer W.R. Berkley appointed two attorneys to high-level counsel positions. Alliant hired a co-leader of its mergers and acquisitions unit.

W.R. Berkley Corporation named John Littzi as senior vice president – deputy general counsel and Neil Keenan as vice president – senior counsel. Both appointments are effective immediately.
Littzi joined W.R. Berkley Corporation in 2011 and since 2013 has served as vice president – senior counsel. Each year, he has taken on additional responsibilities, participating in a variety of corporate and investment transactions. More recently, he has broadened his role within the legal department and expanded his engagement with W.R. Berkley’s operating units, working on a variety of transactional and litigation matters, underwriting concerns and regulatory issues, according to the company.
Keenan joined W.R. Berkley Corporation in 2014 and since 2018 has served as assistant vice president – counsel. Over the past two years, he has worked on a diverse group of projects involving corporate transactions, employment and litigation matters, underwriting concerns, and regulatory issues. He has also taken the lead for the legal department on several difficult compliance projects, as well as being at the forefront of the legal department’s innovation efforts, the company noted.

Alliant hired Dan Schoenberg as co-leader of Alliant Mergers & Acquisitions.
Schoenberg has experience in representations and warranties insurance, tax insurance and litigation insurance, as well as insuring other contingent risks in M&A and non-M&A-related situations.
Based in New York, Schoenberg will provide customized financial and transactional risk insurance solutions, including tax insurance, representations and warranties insurance, and insurance solutions to cover specific litigation and other contingent liabilities in public and private mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions. He will also place these insurance products for clients seeking general business and corporate risk management outside of a deal setting.
Before joining Alliant, Schoenberg was a senior managing director with the Transaction Liability Group at global insurance brokerage firm Aon, according to his LinkedIn page.
