Executives On The Move at Hamilton Insurance Group, Everest Re and Willis Re

Hamilton Insurance Group appointed a head of Property Reinsurance for its new U.S. reinsurance platform. Everest Re hired Artur Klinger as Managing Director of its Continental Europe business, to succeed a veteran executive who is retiring. Willis Re promoted an executive to lead its International Casualty Reinsurance practice and become Chair of Willis Re Australia.

Hamilton Insurance Group appointed Brad Sforza as senior vice president, Head of Property Reinsurance for its new U.S. reinsurance platform, effective January 27, 2020.

Sforza was previously at PartnerRe in the role of vice president, Property and Multiline Treaty. He joins Head of Casualty & Specialty Reinsurance Steve Wilson in Hamilton’s New York office as Hamilton continues the buildout of its global reinsurance footprint in the U.S.

Sforza is a 20-year industry veteran. Before PartnerRe, he spent over 14 years at Willis Re, most recently as executive vice president with responsibility for client management and business development.

He began his career in reinsurance as a broker analyst at Aon Benfield.

Everest Re hired Artur Klinger as Managing Director of Continental Europe. He’ll succeed Stephan Knipper who will retire after 33 years in the industry.

Klinger joins Everest Re with twenty years of industry experience, most recently as chief underwriting officer for Property & Casualty at NewRe where he has worked for the past 12 years. Klinger will be based in Everest Re’s Zurich office and report to Andrew Carrier, Everest Re head of European and Asia Pacific Operations. His appointment is subject to customary regulatory approval.

Willis Re, the reinsurance business of Willis Towers Watson (NASDAQ: WLTW), made Cameron Green head of its International Casualty Reinsurance practice as well as Chair of Willis Re Australia.

In this new role as the leader of the Casualty practice, Green will be responsible for the segment’s growth and development across Willis Re’s International business. He will also work on specific projects within the Asia Pacific region. Green was previously CEO of Willis Re Australia.

John Philipsz, who was the deputy CEO of Willis Re Australia, has been appointed as the Chief Executive.

Both executives will continue to be based in Sydney.

Green, Willis Re’s CEO in Australia since 2013, said he was looking forward to developing the Casualty practice for Willis Re International in addition to delivering strategic support for several of its Australian and New Zealand based clients.

Philipsz joined the Australian team in 2018 from Willis Towers Watson Securities.
