Zurich Insurance Group appointed a relatively new executive to a leadership role for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance named a new Country Manager for Germany and established a new office in Cologne. CSAA Insurance Group promoted one of its marketing executives to a senior leadership position.

Zurich Insurance Group appointed Alison Martin to the role of Chief Executive Officer Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and Bank Distribution, effective immediately.
While she takes on her new role, Martin will continue to oversee the Group Risk Management function for a limited period of time until a suitable successor has been found. She succeeds Amanda Blanc who recently left the business.
Martin joined Zurich in October 2017 and became Group Chief Risk Officer in January 2018. During this time she beefed up strong risk management in all of Zurich’s businesses across regions, including increasing focus on managing the risks from the digital transformation of the industry, Zurich said. The company also called Martin “a passionate advocate” of its diversity and values and added she’ll keep her responsibilities for driving forward the Sustainability agenda into her new role.
Martin joined Zurich from Swiss Re, where she was Head of Life & Health Business Management globally for the four years before joining Zurich. In her 14 years at Swiss Re, Martin held a series of senior management positions focused on transformation, commercial business and value creation.
The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance appointed Andreas Krause as Country Manager for Germany and established a new office in Cologne.
BHSI also has an office in Munich, Germany, and underwrites property, casualty, medical malpractice, marine and executive & professional lines for a wide range of customers throughout the country.
Andreas comes to BHSI with nearly 20 years of industry experience. He was most recently General Manager, Germany, at QBE Europe. Before that he held various roles in both underwriting and distribution at AIG Europe, and was Director of Broking at AON Germany in Hamburg.

AAA insurer CSAA Insurance Group promoted Linda Goldstein to Executive Vice President, Customer Experience and Marketing.
As a member of the organization’s executive leadership team, Goldstein leads all aspects of marketing, including digital marketing, brand management, marketing analytics, market research, customer-experience management, data strategy and direct marketing.
Before her promotion, Goldstein was vice president of marketing channels and partners, and previously held various senior executive marketing positions during a 17-year career with Citigroup.
Goldstein also serves as president of the board of directors for Berkeley Humane, an organization serving the people and animals of its community by providing life-saving programs for cats and dogs, cultivating compassion, and strengthening the human-animal bond.
