An executive who was previously based at XL Catlin and AIG is joining Zurich North America in a leadership role. Erie Insurance promoted a veteran employee to vice president of property and subrogation.

A veteran XL Catlin and AIG executive has joined Zurich North America as Head of Management Solutions.
Brian Benjamin, a professional liability lines veteran, will handle the direction, management and performance of the Management Solutions Group (MSG) unit, which is part of Specialty Products in North America Commercial Insurance.
He’ll report to Brian Winters, Head of Specialty Products, Zurich North America Commercial Insurance. Benjamin will also have global responsibilities for financial lines, reporting to Jim Shea, Zurich Global Head of Commercial Insurance.
Before joining Zurich, Benjamin held executive roles with XL Catlin and AIG, most recently serving as Global Head of Mergers & Acquisitions Insurance for XL Catlin. He has extensive experience working with brokers and customers, plus expertise in underwriting strategy and models, product innovation and strategic initiatives in various management and professional liability lines.

Erie Insurance promoted Matt Palczer to the role of vice president of property and subrogation.
Palczer has risen through the ranks at Erie, having begun his career there in 2002 as a mail clerk in the Murrysville, Pa. branch.
The insurer credits Palczer with having served in positions of increasing responsibility since that time, including multiline adjuster, property adjuster, property reinspector, property examiner and property claims reinspection manager. He is involved with Erie’s drone program.
