Executives On The Move at Travelers, Erie Insurance and Alliant

Travelers hired on a new head of Investor Relations. Erie Insurance promoted an executive who will handle the carrier’s strategic initiatives, among other new tasks. Alliant hired an industry veteran to provide targeted risk management and insurance products/ideas to its diverse portfolio of clients throughout the Eastern United States.

Abbe Goldstein/Travelers

The Travelers Companies, Inc. hired Abbe Goldstein as its new senior vice president, Investor Relations.

Goldstein succeeds Gabriella Nawi, who recently joined the company’s Personal Insurance finance team. Goldstein will report to Jay Benet, vice chairman and chief financial officer, and will serve on the company’s operating committee.

Goldstein joins Travelers as a veteran investor relations professional, who most recently was senior vice president, Director of Investor Relations at XL Catlin, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She is a member of the CFA Institute, CFA Society New York and Senior Roundtable of the National Investor Relations Institute.

Melissa Gustafson/ Erie Insurance

Erie Insurance promoted Melissa Gustafson to vice president, Strategic Initiatives and Program Management, Sales & Products.

Gustafson will work with Erie Insurance leaders on strategic planning processes and design.

Gustafson brings more than 18 years of project management experience to her new position. She has completed development programs in project management and insurance acumen. Gustafson earned the Associate in General Insurance, Associate in Insurance Services (AIS) and Associate in Customer Service designations and is working toward the Associate in Technology designation.

Alliant hired John Zukus as vice president. He’ll provide targeted risk management and insurance products and ideas to Alliant’s diverse portfolio of clients throughout the Eastern United States.

Throughout his career Zukus has worked for some of the nation’s largest insurance brokerage firms and financial services companies. Previously, he was vice president/Risk Manager for Key Insurance & Benefits Services and has also worked as a vice president at Wells Fargo Insurance Services, according to his LinkedIn profile.

During this time, Zukus has become an expert in delivering captive insurance programs that are custom designed to reduce his clients’ risk exposure and insurance costs, Alliant said. He has experience working with clients spanning a broad range of industries.
