Moral Courage Can Help Build a Great Organization

May 7, 2018

A good leader in any organization provides one thing: Moral courage.

Executive and author Jon Mertz writes in his blog Thin Difference that “moral courage empowers good leadership, and it challenges, and potentially, prevents bad leadership.”

With that in mind, Mertz said that “moral courage and good leadership pair well together” and it is important to build an organization where both are in play.

“Moral courage begins with training and conversations on how to foster and enliven it,” Mertz writes. “From here, it continues through actions that encourage honesty and how to work through disagreements to gain better decisions.”
