Executives On The Move at Chubb, AIR Worldwide and Aon Benfield

Chubb brought on an AIG veteran as its new chief claims officer. AIR Worldwide has a new senior vice president of Global Resilience. Aon Benfield’s UK arm named a new chief operating officer.

Chubb named Michael Smith as its new chief claims officer.

In his new role the veteran American International Group executive will lead Chubb’s claims management organization globally and handle all aspects of executive claims management, service and administration for Chubb through its global network of claims officers. He’ll report to Paul Krump, executive vice president of Chubb Group ad president, North America Commercial and Personal Insurance.

Smith has more than 30 years of insurance and law experience. From 2000 to 2017 he served in various executive leadership roles at AIG, most recently as chief transformation officer.

Frank Lattal, Chubb’s chief claims officer since 2003, will continue on as senior vice president, Chubb Group, and also manage the company’s largest and most complex claims globally. As well, he’ll offer strategic leadership and management oversight to the company’s Brandywine run-off operations. He’ll report to Smith.

Catastrophe modeling firm AIR Worldwide appointed Roger Grenier as senior vice president of Global Resilience.

Grenier will lead AIR’s resilience initiatives globally, projects aimed at developing ideas that help society prepare for and recover from extreme events.

Grenier has 20 years of experience working with global risk models. He began his career as an engineer working on models for environmental, flood and coastal engineering projects, including a water quality model for New York harbor. He joins AIR from Liberty Mutual, where he has served as director of catastrophe research and development since 2012. Prior to that position, he was a catastrophe modeler for Liberty Mutual Reinsurance.

Grenier said he would be looking forward to helping governments and other organizations strengthen their emergency management programs, and to help them prepare for natural and man-made catastrophes before they strike.

Leonora Siccardi

Leonora Siccardi is the new chief operating officer for Aon Benfield UK.

In her new position, Siccardi will oversee strategy, leadership, development and execution of policy and practice in all operational areas of the UK business. She’ll also be tasked to build a platform for the firm’s continued growth and improvement.

As well, Siccardi will become a member of the UK executive leadership team. She’ll report to Nick Frankland and Maggie Westdale, Aon Benfield’s UK CEO and CFO, respectively.

Siccardi has been with Aon since 2006, serving in various executive positions since then.
