Executives On The Move at Chubb, Tokio Millennium Re and PartnerRe

Chubb made a number of new executive appointments within its Global Casualty and Excess Casualty lines of business for its North America Major Accounts division. A Lloyd’s veteran will become Tokio Millennium Re AG’s new chief underwriting officer. PartnerRe Ltd. named a former Google executive to the newly-created position of Chief Corporate and People Operations Officer.

Chubb made a number of new leadership appointments within its Global Casualty and Excess Casualty lines of business for its North America Major Accounts division.

This division serves large U.S.- and Canadian-based companies requiring risk management products for some of the most complex global risks.

Here are the new appointments, effective immediately:

A Lloyd’s veteran will become Tokio Millennium Re AG’s new chief underwriting officer.

Brian Secrett will also serve as a member of the Executive Committee. He’s slated to begin on Oct. 1, 2017, pending regulatory approvals and be based in London.

As the new Chief Underwriting Officer, Secrett will lead underwriting and pricing operations, handling risk selection process and controls. It is a role that Tokio Marine Re said will strengthen its focus on analytics to boost underwriting results and serve customers better.

Secrett, a nearly 30 year veteran of reinsurance underwriting, was most recently at Lloyd’s where he has been Head of Class of Business and subsequently Interim Head of Underwriting Performance.

Secrett has also held a number of management positions at Partner Re, and began his career in 1989 as a property treaty underwriter at Swiss Re UK.

PartnerRe Ltd. appointed Dorothée Burkel to the newly-created position of Chief Corporate and People Operations Officer.

The job, effective Oct. 2, 2017, makes Burkel a member of PartnerRe’s executive management team. She’ll have executive responsibility for Human Resources, Communications, Legal and Internal Audit.

Burkel has 30 years of professional experience leading international and decentralized teams in the digital economy. Most recently she was at Google, where she held the position of People Operations Director for EMEA going back to 2008.
