Chubb Group named Ross Bertossi as vice president of Global Underwriting.

In his new role, Bertossi will be tasked with advancing underwriting excellence across the company, including general underwriting policy and underwriting management best practices. He’ll also oversee Chubb’s global product boards and portfolio management process.

Bertossi has more than 30 years of insurance and underwriting management experience. Since ACE’s acquisition of Chubb in 2016, he has served as executive vice president, Excess Casualty, North America Insurance, a job that called for him to oversee Chubb’s umbrella and excess casualty product lines serving large commercial customers. He joined ACE in 2002 as executive vice president, ACE Medical Risk and later became executive vice president, ACE Casualty Risk.

Bertossi succeeds Jacques Bonneau who is retiring at the end of 2017 after nearly 40 years in insurance and reinsurance. Bonneau will work with Bertossi to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.

Bertossi will report to John Keogh, Chubb executive vice chairman and Chief Operating Officer.
