Executives On The Move at XL Catlin, Allied World and JLT Re

Executives from AIG and Zurich will fill two leadership slots in XL Catlin’s Canadian Environmental Insurance Team. Allied World appointed a new assistant vice president for property in Australia. JLT Re appointed a new executive in Chicago.

XL Catlin hired executives from AIG and Zurich to fill two leadership slots with its Canadian Environmental Insurance team.

Marc Estrada will be Environmental team lead and Brian Hughes is assistant vice president, Environmental underwriting. Both will be based in Toronto and report to Joseph Madigan, Environmental regional manager for Canada.

Estrada was most recently at AIG, where he focused on underwriting Contractors Pollution Liability and Combined General Liability and Pollution Liability Risks. Before AIG, he spent six years at Hub International HKMB brokering multiple lines of coverage including Environmental, Construction and D&O.

Allied World Assurance Company Holdings, AG appointed Jodi Garratt as assistant vice president, Property, Australia. She will report to Carolyn Schreeve, vice president and head of Property, Asia-Pacific.

Garratt has 17 years of insurance industry experience from working in the UK and Australia markets. Most recently, she was with CGU Insurance and based in Sydney.

She’s also an associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a senior associate of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance.

JLT Re (North America) Inc. appointed Greg Messenger as executive vice president in Chicago.

Messenger will focus on the development of JLT Re’s regional, mutual, and national global practices.

He joins JLT Re with more than 35 years of industry experience, most recently at Guy Carpenter, Aon Benfield and its predecessor E.W. Blanch, which Benfield acquired in 2001.

Messenger will join JLT Re in July 2017 after completing his current contractual obligations.
