Executives On The Move at Chubb, Hamilton USA, Navigators and More

Chubb promoted one of its executives to a new position – chief digital officer. There’s another newly-created position at Hamilton USA – head of Strategy and Innovation – with an up-and-coming executive in charge. The Navigators Group named another executive to a newly-created leadership spot – global practice leader for cyber liability. There’s a new person in charge of Willis Towers Watson’s FINEX North America business. Employers Holdings Inc. has a new chief operating officer.

Chubb promoted Sean Ringsted to the job of executive vice president, Chubb Group, and chief digital officer, a newly-created position.

Right now, Ringsted is executive vice president, chief risk officer and actuary. In his new role, Ringsted will lead Chubb’s effort at transforming the company into a digitally integrated organization. He’ll still keep his chief risk officer position.

As chief digital officer, Ringsted, a 25-year in insurance industry veteran, will lead Chubb’s transformation into the digital world in areas including underwriting, analytics, claims, marketing, international operations and technology. He’ll continue to report to Chubb’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Evan Greenberg.

Meanwhile, Paul O’Connell has been promoted to senior vice president, Chubb Group, and will succeed Ringsted as chief actuary. Right now, the 35-year insurance industry veteran is vice president and chief actuary, Global Property & Casualty, and chief actuary, North America Insurance.

Julianna Muir

Julianna Muir has been appointed at Hamilton USA to the newly-created position of senior vice president, head of Strategy and Innovation.

In her new role, Muir will report to CEO Seraina Macia. She’ll be tasked with helping to lead the design and execution of strategy for Hamilton USA, including a planned expansion into the middle market business segment, and the ongoing development of Attune, Hamilton’s small commercial venture with AIG and Two Sigma.

Muir joined Hamilton USA in 2015, after a nearly four-year stint at McKinsey & Company, where she was a member of the firm’s insurance practice and advised leading global companies on strategy, operations, organizational design, and sales and marketing. Before McMinsey, Muir was a treaty reinsurance broker at Guy Carpenter & Co.

Jacob Ingerslev

The Navigators Group appointed Jacob Ingerslev to the newly-created position of global practice leader for cyber liability.

In his new job, Ingerslev will help lead Navigators’ cyber liability practice, including product development, line management and advancement of the company’s global cyber initiative. One big focus will be on enhancing the company’s cyber and technology insurance products, and expanding their reach to various marketplaces in which Navigators, a global specialty insurer, operates globally.

Previously, Ingerslev was an advisor to global security software provider Symantec. He has also held leadership positions at CNA, Chubb, Zurich and Gerling Scandanavia.

Ken Ross is the new head of Willis Towers Watson’s FINEX North America business, the company’s management liability specialty group which is part of its Corporate Risk and Broking segment.

Ross will now handle the strategic direction and growth of FINEX North America, which includes expertise across a range of specialty insurance coverages including directors and officers, errors and omissions, employment practices, fiduciary and cyber liability and fidelity bond.

Ross has been a member of the FINEX leadership team, most recently as head of the Claims and Legal Group, and Thought and Product Leadership in North America. He is a 13-year Willis Towers Watson veteran. Previously, he was at Aon Financial Services Group, where he was head of its Claims and Legal group, and Transactional Liability unit.

Employers Holdings Inc. named Tracy Berg as its executive vice president, chief information officer. She’ll report directly to President and CEO Douglas Dirks.

Previously, Berg was senior vice president and chief information officer for West Bend Mutual Insurance Company in West Bend, WI, from 2008 through 2017. She also has prior executive experience from a stint at Assurant.

Employers Holdings, Based in Nevada, is a holding company with subsidiaries that include specialty providers of workers compensation insurance, and services focused on select small businesses engaged in low-to-medium hazard industries. Those subsidiaries operate in 36 states and the District of Columbia.
