CNA named a former Chubb executive to fill a leading executive role. Neon, backed by Great American Insurance Group, made a strategic hire. Beazley has a new aviation underwriter.
CNA named a former Chubb executive to a leading position at the company.
Paul Larson is the insurer’s new senior vice president, Financial Institutions and Management Liability, and he’ll assume his new role as of Oct. 3. Larson will be tasked with driving strategy and profitable growth for both businesses.
Larson is a 24-year insurance industry veteran. Previously, he was a Chubb executive vice president who oversaw all management liability lines of business for publicly traded companies in the U.S., Canada and Bermuda. Before that, he held various leadership roles at Chubb.
Longtime (and now former) Chubb executive Dino Robusto will officially become Chairman and CEO of CNA as of Dec. 1. The news was announced last November, and a number of Chubb veterans have subsequently followed him to the insurer.
Specialist Lloyd’s insurer Neon (formerly known as Marketform) hired a new executive.
Andrew Thornton has been appointed to the role of underwriter and solicitor, M&A Tax Insurance. In his new position, he’ll report to Dawn Bhoma, head of Tax Liability Insurance.
Previously, Thornton was tax partner at Dentons LLP, and has a wide range of U.K. and international experience advising clients on tax issues stemming from M&A, private equity fund formation and restructurings.
At Neon, Thornton will enable the firm to offer clients specialist tax insurance products in the funds sector and other strategic trade sectors.
Neon is part of Great American Insurance Group.
Beazley hired Christophe Paulin as an aviation underwriter.
Paulin will be charged with managing Beazley’s aviation business in France, and developing its global aerospace/products portfolio. He’ll be based in Paris after an initial period in London.
Before Beazley, Paulin was at ArgoGlobal in London where he worked as a senior aviation underwriter, helping to develop their general aviation and aerospace products in France and around the world. He also worked for a number of years as an aviation insurance broker in France.
