What will be the effect of this week’s federal court ruling that Travelers Indemnity, under its commercial general liability (CGL) coverage, must defend an insured sued due to a medical records data breach?

Cyber insurance expert Stephanie Snyder, senior vice president for Aon Risk Solutions, says the ruling was more about “publication” than cyber and it only addressed defense costs, not expenses, in this update from the RIMS conference in San Diego.
